Hi!
Thanks for stopping by our web page. Our computer teacher, Mrs. Scher
created this fabulous page so that we could teach others about the learning
that has been going on in our classroom this year. Our teacher Miss Abbott
used to live in a far away place while she was in college. She lived in
a country called The Netherlands. While she was there she learned how
to appreciate others and realized that even though we may all appear to
be very different from one another that underneath we are all very much
the same.
Miss Abbott wanted to give her children the same opportunity to meet diverse people who do different things in the community. She created Hearts’ Stories with the help and support of some very special people in her life. Miss Abbott had a dream to do something to make a difference in the way we treat each others and also the way we think of people who look or act differently than we do. She thinks it is important for us to believe in our dreams and tells us if we can dream it we can do it! We have learned about so many awesome jobs in the community. We have been lucky to meet people who have lived in other cities, states and even other countries! Hearts’ Stories has given us ideas and dreams of jobs we’d like to have and places we’d like to go! It has always taken us around the world in the stories told by others who have visited those far away places. Miss Abbott
has only been teaching two years. She did her student teaching at NMBP
under Gail Horton three years ago and has been here ever since. Miss Abbott
moved to South Carolina in 2000 to go to Coastal Carolina University.
She is originally from North Canton, Ohio. Miss Abbott received her Bachelors
of Arts in Early Childhood Education from CCU and is currently working
towards her Masters of Education. On July 28th Miss Abbott will marry
Mr. Rob Edwards. It sure will be different to call her Mrs. Edwards. We
are so excited for her big day and will be there to play the bells in
her wedding to Cannon in D as she walks down the aisle.
