Can you believe
that Hearts’ Stories is now three years old? The students in
Mrs. Edwards’ second grade class at Forestbrook Elementary school
truly embraced the opportunity to meet people in our community. This
year we have met so many interesting and unique people!
This year
we learned about many jobs and events in our community from our guests
that the children and Mrs. Edwards’ invited. Some of our guests
taught us about: the special Olympics, K-9 cops, land developers,
insurance agents, a hotel manager, cooks, restaurant servers, the
Indian culture, a nurse, a horseback riding instructor, a green builder,
a realtor, non-profit agencies, volunteers, the army, bankers, a talk
show host, Coastal Carolina University’s President, and Coastal
Carolina University’s head football coach. Each guest left our
classroom with a special place in our hearts and a new story for us
to share.
This was
Mrs. Edwards’ first year at Forestbrook Elementary school. She
spent the last three years at North Myrtle Beach Primary school. Mrs.
Edwards moved to South Carolina in 2000 to go to Coastal Carolina
University. She is originally from North Canton, Ohio. She received
her Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood Education and her Masters
of Education from CCU.
We hope you
enjoy reading our stories. We’ve learned how important it is
to take the time to ask people about their lives and be curious about
our world. We’ve told our stories, have you told yours?
